Africa Calling !
what is wrong my love? it is you i love.
your mother has told you not to marry me
because i have nothing. but i love you.
your friends have told you not to marry me
because i have nothing. but i love you.
your father has told you not to marry me
because i have nothing. but i love you.
what is wrong my love? it is you i love.
do not be angry, do not cry.
do not be sad because of love.

Women of Egypt and Tunis
Women of Egypt - a Facebook album dedicated to the women of Egypt who took part in the January 2011 protests.
Le Monde has a similar album of the women of Tunis
Edited to add: For the non-Facebookers, the Women of Egypt album is also at Democratic Underground
Women have played major roles in the democratic protests in Tunisia and Egypt. In fact, the strikes in Mahalla, Egypt, which started in 2006, began with 3,000 female textile workers. As they took to the streets, they chanted, “Where are the men? Here are the women!”
Still, stepford wives all across America lambast Arab women for being docile and repressed.
